Simplistic Album Cover Creations
These are some simplistic album cover ideas that we have created. 'Troubled Town' probably won't be the title of the debut album for THE EVERYTHING however we wanted to use some kind of text to give us a better idea of how the cover would look. The simplistic and minimal look is a convention we have followed when creating this design. The use of the colours teal and black are what we believe look affective, however they are the same colours used in the logo, this can potentially be good or bad which we haven't quite figured yet. Also the use of binary opposites Black and White is useful too. We have used green as the base colour to on the final photo shown to replicate the artwork of 'WERKBUND - RUNGHOLT', these are colours we probably wouldn't have considered using, however they seem work with each other pretty well.
Simplstic Album Covers
Here are some examples of some simplistic album cover ideas.
These album covers are realistically very easy to create; however they are
extremely effective. For example the XX’s artwork for their album is simply a
white ‘X’ placed on a plain black background. This binary opposite is very
effective in gaining attention, and it represents the band too. Similarly Arctic
Monkey’s album cover (first photo) uses the same colours, however includes
sound waves in white in contrast to the X, yet again the simplistic/minimal
look is very effective. The majority of these artworks are also from an indie
or alternative genre, this can show that certain conventions seem to be
followed throughout the genre, which is something to consider when designing
our own cover.
Band Influence Playlist
This sound cloud playlists includes some of our bands (THE EVERYTHING) music influences, the kind of music which inspired them. All of the music comes from within the same or similar genres, for example indie/alternative genre.

Storyboard
This is the storyboard we have created for the music video. Unfortunately
the artistic skills aren’t of the best quality and therefore annotation has
been provided to support these photos. We have used a variety shots and angles
in the storyboard as a guide to how we would like the shots to look. The storyboard
is a guideline to follow however we aren’t 100% certain this is exactly how the
video will look, we have ideas which are hard to get across on paper when our
drawing isn’t of top scratch.

Audience Profile
Hobbies
He will spend most of his time watching music videos
created by bands none of his friends of heard of. He will love seeing music
videos that are Indie so he can brag to his friends about new music nobody has
heard. To add to this he also likes videos, which are a mixture between
Performance and Narrative. Along with this he will love going to big festivals
like Reading and Leeds so he can get a nice collection of music bands and small
gigs with non-mainstream bands that any particular person wouldn’t enjoy going
to. He will enjoy going shopping with friends of similar interests to buy
vintage clothing and vinyls. He will enjoy using social networking sites,
specifically Instagram taking vintage look photos of his recent purchases.
Clothing:
He will usually wear black spray on skinny jeans (or
other minimal colours) revealing his ankles or plain socks, sometimes he might
even have huf plant life socks on show. He will never wear clothes which show
off a brand, instead he would chose to wear expensive clothing brands, which
are neat and give off a vintage look. He will wear fully buttoned shirts with
the sleeves very high up, and also plain t-shirts, which will also have
sleeves, rolled up very high. He will also claim he was the first person to
start rolling his sleeves. He will always like to have a watch on, watches
which vary from retro/vintage along with tacky bracelets and festival bands
from many years ago, to prove a point. He will either show off his new short
back and side’s haircut with no blend a tall, a casual messy long look or wear
a snapback or vintage beanie. Footwear will consist of authentic vans, creepers
and boat shoes, and possibly a pair of Clarks Originals but only for
collection. Furthermore he will wear denim jackets, oversized coats and an
indie feminine backpack.
Music:
He will listen to a lot of different genres of music
but artists in each genre that he doesn’t believe anyone knows. His primary
genres that he loves the most will be alternative/indie music, bands like:
Foals, Friendly Fires, MGMT, Metronomy, TDCC, Peace, Vampire Weekend and Miike
Snow. He will never illegally download any of his music from websites using
torrents but he will buy every song from iTunes, to prove that he loves his
music so much.
He will enjoy reading music magazines like NME, which
will help fulfil his knowledge on indie/alternative bands, however he will also
purchase magazines of different based genres like complex because he also likes
this style of music.
This type of audience would be extremely interested in
listening to our band because they are new to the indie/alternative genre,
therefore they need to be the first to listen and watch the video, so there
friends know they were the first to find them. Furthermore the style of music
and video will be a mixture of performance and narrative which suits them
perfectly.
